THE LOCAL 5 APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

Earn While You Learn!

The Local 5 Apprenticeship Program is a five year program.

Upon acceptance in the apprenticeship program the apprentice will be placed with a Local 5 Signatory Contractor for paid on-the-job training (year-round). Apprentices will also attend weekly training courses.

Training courses for 1st-3rd years are held one day a week from 6:00am – 2:30pm. The academic calendar year begins in September and ends in July.

Training courses for 4th & 5th years are held one day a week from 4:00pm – 7:15pm. The academic calendar year begins in September and ends in May.

Apprentices receive required certification classes and obtain Journeypersons Licenses:

  • Medical Gas Certification

  • Cross Connection and Backflow Prevention

  • CFC Certification

  • Welding Certification

  • OSHA/Safety Certifications

  • Journeyworker Plumbing License

  • Journeyworker Gasfitter License

  • Diversity Awareness

  • CPR/First Aid

  • 45 College Credits
